Problem Picnic: Attack of the Ants • Action-packed dicefest!

Created by Kids Table Board Gaming

It's a perfect day for a picnic! The park fills with families, spreading their blankets, and setting out colourful plates loaded with delicious treats. But there has never been a picnic without uninvited guests ... ANTS!! In Problem Picnic: Attack of the Ants, players are competing ant colonies trying to steal the best plates of food from the picnic blankets. In this 2-4 player, dice-rolling dexterity game, the dice are your ants. Roll them onto the picnic cards, trying to get the most ants onto the foods and plate colours you want. Different custom dice at your disposal represent your industrious Workers, speedy Scouts, and sturdy Soldiers. At the end of the day, the colony that has arranged their stolen plates to best satisfy the whims of the Queen will earn the most points and win the game!

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Address Changes and Next Steps
about 7 years ago – Fri, Apr 07, 2017 at 11:40:30 AM

Hello my Army of Ants,

This is a quick update to let you know that if you have moved, and your address has changed, you have one week to make changes to your address in Backerkit. On Friday, April 14th, the campaign will be closed and all addresses are finalized. This also means that if you want to get in on some last minute Problem Picnic shopping, now is the time.

If you can't remember your login information or have lost your link to the add-on campaign, let me know. I can resend your Backerkit link to you.

That's all for now kids!

Until next time, go get that food!

Couldn't Resist!
about 7 years ago – Tue, Apr 04, 2017 at 08:11:34 PM

Hello my Army of Ants,

I just couldn't resist sending you these pictures. A case of the games has arrived so that I can send them out to reviewers. A second case of the Golden Ants went straight to Scott Almes. After the games had arrived, Scott emailed me to say that "they are amazing looking! Super happy with everything. The card stock is nice and thick - the cards feel great. The dice are top notch. The art is perfect. Super thrilled! Can't wait to play it at game night tomorrow night!"

When you please the designer that much, you know you've done something right!

Hello my Army of Ants!

It has been three weeks since I have updated you on what is happening with Problem Picnic. Today, I'm happy to report, your games are being shipped to the various fulfillment warehouses around the world.

The freight shipment coming from China is to arrive at Funagain on May 12th (although there can always be unforeseen delays). So we are still ahead of the game. Because GamesQuest in the UK is much closer to the point of origin, of course the games should arrive there some time before they arrive in the US. I have spoken with GamesQuest, and we're in line. They have a few really big projects that they are working on right now, but will have no problem getting your games to you by the beginning of June (if not before).

What We're Up To

.
.

Josh and I are planning to be at Gen Con again this year. The convention will take place in Indianapolis, Indiana from August 17th-20th. It has boasted over 60 000 visitors each year for the last few years. Having been there before, I can say it's a pretty incredible place to be.

We've got so much in store this year. We're excited to announce that we'll be housed in the Family Pavilion. We will be hosting an awesome Foodfighters tournament (better get some practice in before the event) as well as hosting many awesome guests at our booth. If you are thinking about going, please do let us know. So much more amazing info to come.

The Gathering of Friends, hosted by Alan R. Moon, is coming up at the end of this week. Josh and I will be there. The Gathering is the most amazing fun experience for any gamer. I feel so lucky that I get to attend. I'll be there for fun, but also to scout out some new games. I'll keep you posted throughout the 10 day event.

Speaking of New Games

We've got some really exiting things to tell you about soon! Stay tuned for more info on our next game, and the direction KTBG is taking.

What We're Backing

As some of you know, from time to time we like to tell you about Kickstarter campaigns that we are supporting. Ladder 29 is a climbing/trick-taking card game from one of our favourite game companies, Green Couch Games. In this game you play a firefighter attempting to extinguish your hand of cards while facing difficult challenges. You must decide when to play it safe and when to put it all on the line! The campaign has less than 2 weeks to go. Be sure to check it out. We can't wait to get our hands on it!

We'll be in touch soon to keep you updated on the shipments from China!

Packing and T's
about 7 years ago – Tue, Mar 07, 2017 at 09:28:16 PM

Hello my Army of Ants,

A quick update, and then I'll be out of your hair for a while (well, at least until the games land in your neck of the woods).

Final Packing

Our manufacturer has sent us some photos of box packing. We thought you would want to see them. Here they are. The game looks so good!!!! We're really excited to get them to you!

 And Then There's the T

Wow! We did not expect it to look this good! Check out the awesome job the guys at Private Press Printing did. We couldn't have asked for a better looking T.

.
.

This is your last call for T-shirts. After next week (Sunday, March 12th, to be exact), that ship will have sailed. If you've decided that you want one and are in Canada or the US, please email me to make arrangements for adding on to your shipment.

It's Almost Time
about 7 years ago – Mon, Mar 06, 2017 at 10:13:10 PM

Hello my Army of Ants!

Yesterday I received confirmation from our manufacturer that your games will be ready to send to our fulfillment warehouses in just a few days.

.
.

Can you believe it? For me, that went really fast!

Things are really rolling! We are still going to have to wait 30-45 days for the boats to reach the US and UK ports before getting on trucks to get to GamesQuest and Fun Again Games. There, the orders will be processed, and finally fulfilled to you.

What We're Up To

This weekend we are headed to BreakOut Con in Toronto (finally one in our hometown). We are so excited to spend some time with our friends, and of course to meet new ones. If you will be attending, please let us know. We'll be in the vendor room for most of the con, but we'll also be demoing Foodfighters and Problem Picnic, and of course running a Foodfighters tourney on Saturday, March 11th at 10am. If you can make it, it is sure to be a fantastic time. Stay tuned for pics of the event.
