Problem Picnic: Attack of the Ants • Action-packed dicefest!

Created by Kids Table Board Gaming

It's a perfect day for a picnic! The park fills with families, spreading their blankets, and setting out colourful plates loaded with delicious treats. But there has never been a picnic without uninvited guests ... ANTS!! In Problem Picnic: Attack of the Ants, players are competing ant colonies trying to steal the best plates of food from the picnic blankets. In this 2-4 player, dice-rolling dexterity game, the dice are your ants. Roll them onto the picnic cards, trying to get the most ants onto the foods and plate colours you want. Different custom dice at your disposal represent your industrious Workers, speedy Scouts, and sturdy Soldiers. At the end of the day, the colony that has arranged their stolen plates to best satisfy the whims of the Queen will earn the most points and win the game!

More About the PPAA Dice

.
.

Many of you have asked if you can get an extra set of dice for your collections. I'm trying very hard to make that happen. I will let you know what the outcome is in an update soon. If you are interested, and have not mentioned it to me yet, please speak up now so that I know how many extras I am looking to purchase from the manufacturer.

That's all for now Army of Ants!

What We're Excited About

Every once in a while we back a Kickstarter campaign that looks like fun for our family. We like to share it with you for two reasons: 1. it gives you a little insight into who we are, and 2. it seems like a fantastic game. Here is Truck Off

This Is Good! New and Exclusive PPAA Content
about 7 years ago – Fri, Feb 17, 2017 at 06:10:08 AM

Hello my Army of Ants!

It's been quite some time since you've been updated on progress. During the Lunar New Year celebrations in China, everyone is away for at least two weeks. While nothing major happened before the holiday, our manufacturer is sure on a roll now.

Check out how much they have done in just one week:

No Dice?

I was assured that the dice would be ready by the beginning of next week. I was so excited by the pictures above, I really couldn't wait to send you this update. You'll receive another update next week with dice pictures. I'm just as excited as you are!

News on Shipping

We've partnered up with our good friend Marc at Grand Gamers Guild, publisher of these awesome games: Unreal Estate and Stroop. They will also be publishing a game called Pocket Opps in the near future, which our very own Josh Cappel will be doing the graphic design for. It's sure to be a stunner!

Marc and I have planned to ship our games to North America together. We did this to save you (and us) shipping costs. It makes a great deal of sense to everyone involved.

Tantrum House is one of the best, most well produced, review houses out there. They are great supporters of Kids Table, so we wanted to do something to show them our support. Head on over to Tantrum House's Season 4 Kickstarter campaign. Choose one of their pledge levels with rewards, and you can include the T(ant)rum Round Card. This new Problem Picnic: Attack of the Ants round card allows you to reuse a card that has already been played. Cute, right!?

That's all for now my Army of Ants! We'll be back with more for you when we're ready to ship. Since we're in February, and fulfillment isn't until June, I think we're in a good place :)

Until next time, go get that food!

PP:AA Sample and We're in Production
over 7 years ago – Sun, Jan 08, 2017 at 08:48:38 PM

Hello my Army Ants!

Yes, it's true, we've been in production for the last week. Here's some proof for you: Jon Mietling from Portal Dragon and Kids Table BG are using the same manufacturing house. Yesterday, Jon Tweeted a picture of his production of Zephyr: Winds of Change. It turns out that they are making use of every possible inch of paper. While this, in the end, cuts costs for all of us, I also feel that this environmental conscientiousness is something to be proud of! It makes us all warm and tingly inside, knowing that we are doing our job to produce less watste. Thanks for sharing the pic with us Jon!

Photos of the Sample

The sample itself looks amazing, as you will see below. There are a couple of changes that need to be made, so we started production on most of the components while we make those few minor adjustments. Here are some photos of the awesome game components:

Notice there are no green dice here. They didn't get the colour exactly the way we wanted it the first time around, so they are trying again. They will send us pictures once they get it right. The other dice look amazing, don't they? Look at the detail on the ants!!

Don't forget that you can add-on the Mini-Expansion through your BackerKit for $3.50CAD!

As you can see, we're so proud of this game. The work that Josh has put into it has really made the components shine. The factory has done a great job with quality again, and we are so excited about it!

Next Steps

We only have three backers who have yet to fill out their BackerKit surveys. At the end of this week (Friday to be exact), I will be closing the surveys. Your credit cards will be charged if you have added anything to your order, and the questions will be closed. You will still have plenty of time to confirm your address before shipping in June (hopefully sooner). So, if you are planning on moving between now and then, and don't have an address yet, don't worry, we'll keep that part of the survey open until closer to shipping.

Pre-Orders Open

Did you know that if your friends missed the campaign they can still get a good deal on Problem Picnic: Attack of the Ants? Of course, we couldn't offer them a deal like we offered to you during the campaign, but they will definitely be getting a deal if they order before the game goes to retail. If you know someone who was disappointed that they didn't get their hands on the game, send them this link: https://problem-picnic.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders.

And of course, we can't thank you enough for backing Problem Picnic: Attack of the Ants. We are so lucky to have you on board, and wouldn't be doing any of this without you!
