Problem Picnic: Attack of the Ants • Action-packed dicefest!

Created by Kids Table Board Gaming

It's a perfect day for a picnic! The park fills with families, spreading their blankets, and setting out colourful plates loaded with delicious treats. But there has never been a picnic without uninvited guests ... ANTS!! In Problem Picnic: Attack of the Ants, players are competing ant colonies trying to steal the best plates of food from the picnic blankets. In this 2-4 player, dice-rolling dexterity game, the dice are your ants. Roll them onto the picnic cards, trying to get the most ants onto the foods and plate colours you want. Different custom dice at your disposal represent your industrious Workers, speedy Scouts, and sturdy Soldiers. At the end of the day, the colony that has arranged their stolen plates to best satisfy the whims of the Queen will earn the most points and win the game!

Sample is In and Happy Holidays
over 7 years ago – Sun, Dec 25, 2016 at 05:29:02 PM

Hello Awesome Backers!

I'm coming to you from sunny Florida, where the thought of snow is a distant memory, and the sun is shining its beautiful rays down on us (well it was during the day).

On Friday we received the sample for Problem Picnic. We are very pleased with the results. Very few changes will need to be made. As of now, it is looking like the games will be ready after the Chinese New Year, which still keeps on target for a June delivery.

That's really all for now. But before we go, check out these adorable Foodfighters greetings for the Holidays. Whatever way you celebrate, make sure that games are involved.

Until next time Ants, go get that food!

BackerKit Surveys and Manufacturing
over 7 years ago – Fri, Dec 16, 2016 at 10:45:27 PM

Hello my awesome Army of Ants!

At the moment there are still 89 of you who have not completed their BackerKit surveys. We are going to move ahead soon and close the surveys. Why so quick you ask? Bang Wee, our manufacturer is quite keen on getting this game produced before the Chinese New Year. So, I am not trying to pressure you to make up your mind about which add-ons you want to take (subliminally telling you to pick up an awesome t-shirt), but I really do need to know where and how many of each product to send you.

What Does Quick Manufacturing Mean For You?

It means that we might actually get your game to you before the promised June fulfillment date. Isn't that so fantastic?

What is Happening With the Game?

All art for the game is complete, the game files have been uploaded, and Bang Wee is about to send the sample to me. They say I will have it by December 30th. I am certain I will be giving it the thumbs up by the beginning of January. They tell me that it will take about 40 days manufacture, box, and shrink-wrap. That takes us to the middle of February. Once the games leave China, it will take between 30-45 days to get to port in the UK and in the US. I will give it another 30-45 until the game gets to you. So, by my calculations, late May is a huge possibility.

The Rules

Josh has done a fantastic job with the rules. Although we think we're done with them, we want you to have a pass. Press the button below to preview the Problem Picnic: Attack of the Ants rules. Please feel free to let us know what you think in the comments section of this update.

We're Gone For the Holidays

Josh and I are taking the kids on a long road trip over the holidays. Besides playing car games with the kids, our favourite thing to do together is design games. We designed one last year in the car, and we're working on some finishing touches. I can't wait to find out what we'll be designing this time.

That's all for now, my Army of Ants!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like ... We'll Be Printing Soon
over 7 years ago – Sun, Dec 04, 2016 at 10:53:49 PM

Hello my Army of Ants!

I'll be honest. That tune has been in my head since November 1st, and will likely stay there for along time.

Now, Back to Business

Yes, it's true! By the end of this week, our files will be submitted to the manufacturer. That means, within a few weeks, I will receive a pre-production copy of Problem Picnic to review before the game goes to print. This is all happening so quickly! It's lucky for all of us that I live with the artist ;)

BackerKit

By the end of this week, I will also have submitted the BackerKit survey for review. I am pretty sure that I did a good job with it (if I do say so myself), so expect it sooner than later. When you get it, you'll have the chance to add-on more copies of Problem Picnic and the Problem Picnic Mini-Expansion (worldwide shipping), as well as add-on copies of Foodfighters (our first published game) and Problem Picnic t-shirts (Canada and US backers only).

Finally...

I can't ever send you an update without some beautiful artwork. I thought that you would be as excited as I am to see the final art for the Round Cards. I have included the Wine Bottle, Frisbee and Blueberry Pie Round Cards that will be available as add-ons through BackerKit.

That's all for now!!
